Common Core State Standards

We at the D/M SELPA believe that the California standards will benefit students throughout our state and our nation by providing a consistently challenging, yet attainable, level of progress in each content area at eacImage of Apple on Booksh grade level. Regardless of socioeconomics, our students will learn the skills and knowledge to help them achieve in their future academic and/or career settings. At the SELPA, we welcome the challenge that implementing these standards will bring to not only our students but to us as educators and administrators.

The California standards provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help their students. The standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that our young people need for success in college and careers. With American students fully prepared for the future, our communities will be best positioned to compete successfully in the global economy.
