Individual Protections

The Program Manager for Due Process oversees the  Individual Protections Department for the Desert/Mountain SELPA. The Program Manager for Due Process is responsible for assisting and/or conducting the procedures involved in due process hearings, complaints and investigations for all participating Local Education Agencies (LEAs) within the SELPA including LEAs that are out of geographic boundaries. Inherent to this assignment is the dissemination of information and initiation of procedures that ensure compliance with all parent/child rights and requirements. These include the availablility of parent/child rights notices, equal access to programs, correction of identified program/service problems, and compliance with mandated timelines for assessment and placement of children.
